The Thick Fur is a boss drop used for crafting. It can also be made from Fur Tufts.

Here's a list of every possible way to obtain Thick Fur:
- Crafting it (x3)
- Killing Bearger while it's not on fire (x1)
- Opening a certain Bundled Supplies/Gift from the Loot Stash. 1 of them will have a ~28.57% chance to contain it.
Haunting[]

When haunted by a Player Ghost, the Thick Fur will be launched away from it.
